Munich RE’s Central Procurement’s (CP) division is taking global responsibility within the Reinsurance Group. Jointly with the CPO, the Head of Procurement Excellence and the respective department heads, the Senior Consultant Procurement Excellence defines and improves the global direction of the divisional unit (e.g. Procurement Excellence and Digitization, Sourcing, Vendor (Risk) Management, Procure-to-Pay). By contributing to (inter)national and groupwide projects you define and support CP’s global expansion and shape CP’s future development. Your strategic project insights, paired with your ability to drive change, will be a key success factor.

Your Job

  • Define and implement end-to-end business strategies in complex, international environments
  • Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to senior management on procurement strategy, governance and organizational structure, including CP's target operating model
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the design and implementation of procurement transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and senior management requirements
  • Facilitate workshops, training, and knowledge sharing to enhance CP's capabilities and foster a culture of continuous improvement and change readiness
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including finance, operations, sourcing and IT to drive integration and alignment on global and group-wide procurement initiatives
  • Proactively communicate industry trends and best practices in procurement, incorporate relevant innovations ( i.e. AI) into methodology and solutions
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on procurement excellence topics, contributing thought leadership through external benchmarks, white papers, conference presentations, etc.
  • Act as a gatekeeper for regulatory and audit requirements, while leading international procurement support for overarching governance topics (e.g. policies, guidelines) and implementing relevant changes jointly with technology
  • Your Profile

  • Master's degree in business administration, economics, or related field
  • 5+ years work experience
  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as a consulting background with a focus on procurement process improvement, transformation and excellence
  • Proven expertise in procurement methodologies such as sourcing, category management, supplier management and contract management
  • Excellent project management experience, including the ability to plan, execute and manage multiple projects within scope, budget and timeline
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and solution-oriented skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and thrive in a collaborative team environment
  • Motivates and inspires people to respond to changing business and organizational needs
  • A positive self-starter with the ability to tackle problems proactively with innovative solutions
  • Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information and company matters
  • High degree of reliability and integrity, as well as initiative and commitment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in German and English and willingness to work in an international environment
  • Willingness to travel
